In this crucial bottom-placed clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 43 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, CSK skipper MS Dhoni departed for just 6 runs at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
CSK continued to lose wickets but still looked to be in a good position, hoping for a typical Dhoni finish, especially with the original 'Thala,' Ajith Kumar, watching from the stands. However, Dhoni's stay at the crease was short-lived as he was dismissed by Harshal Patel for 6 off 10 balls.
Kavya Maran's reactionAs Dhoni walked back with a wry smile, SRH owner Kavya Maran was seen jumping out of her seat, unable to contain her wide smile as she clapped and cheered.
Her reaction to Dhoni’s dismissal quickly caught the attention of fans online, with many taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share pictures and videos of her celebration. However, some fans, unhappy with Dhoni’s wicket, expressed their frustration and trolled both the moment and the match situation.

One frustrated fan posted, "Dear CSK, if MS Dhoni doesn't announce retirement within the next 24 hours, I am no longer a CSK fan. I can’t stand bottlers at my beautiful club. Bring back Ruturaj Gaikwad and we will win the match and the IPL trophy."

About CSK vs SRH
SRH, who won the toss and out CSK to bat first, will be content with the target of 155 runs—though it won't be a walk in the park. SRH got the home side all out for 154 in 19.5 overs and will now be looking to chase down the total and get up in the points table.
In the clash, CSK lost Rasheed first ball, and the gamble to open with Sam Curran (9 off 10) at No. 3 didn't pay off. Dewald Brevis (42 off 25) found form, smashing four sixes—three off one Kamindu Mendis over—before falling to a brilliant catch.
Shivam Dube (12 off 9) and Dhoni couldn't contribute much, and CSK brought in Anshul Kamboj as an impact sub. Wickets kept tumbling, with Harshal taking four, supported by Jaydev Unadkat and Pat Cummins who took two each. A late cameo from Deepak Hooda (22 off 21) pushed CSK past 150-run mark.
