Over 23,000 meritorious students from humble and underprivileged backgrounds across India are set to benefit from the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2025 this year. The initiative aims to make higher education more accessible and support young talent in realizing their full potential. SBI Foundation, the CSR arm of the State Bank of India, has committed ₹90 crore towards scholarships in FY26 as part of this effort.
Scholarship to cover students from school to higher education
The Asha Scholarship, first introduced in 2022, offers annual financial support ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹20 lakh until the completion of the selected course. The program supports:
Eligibility criteria1. Must be Indian nationals
2. Minimum of 75% marks or 7.0 CGPA in the previous academic year
3. Family income limits:

Applications open from September 18 to November 15, 2025, via the official portal www.sbiashascholarship.co.in, where detailed eligibility criteria and category-wise benefits are available.

- Undergraduate and postgraduate students in NIRF top 300 or NAAC A-rated institutions
- Scholars at IITs and IIMs

- SC/ST students pursuing master’s or higher education at top 200 QS-ranked universities
