Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Preparations are nearly complete for the district-level Independence Day celebration in Indore, to be held at the RAPTC Ground with full patriotic fervour and ceremonial grandeur. A full-dress rehearsal was conducted on Wednesday to ensure all arrangements are in place.
Collector Asheesh Singh, who will hoist the national flag and receive the ceremonial salute during the main event, reviewed the arrangements alongside Police Commissioner Santosh Singh.
Other officials present at the dress rehearsal were additional police commissioner Amit Singh, DCP traffic Arvind Tiwari, additional collector Roshan Rai, and others. This time the live telecast of the address of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will also be shown during the function.

During the rehearsal 17 platoons from 17 departments perform coordinated marches in full uniform. These include contingents from the Border Security Force, RAPTC, First Corps, 15th Corps, District Police (men and women), City Army, Traffic Police, Scouts and Guides, Red Cross, RI Group, SPC, Srujan Dal, and Shaurya Dal.
The parade will be led by Dy SP Neeti Dandotiya, followed by 2IC Subedar Sonali Vaskale. The First Corps and BSF bands will add ceremonial flair to the event.
Students from Garima Vidya Mandir, Government Utkrisht Bal Vinay Mandir, Government Sandipani Ahilya Ashram Girls HSS No. 1, and Umiya Patidar Girls School will perform cultural programmes themed on patriotism and folk traditions.
Honouring Excellence
Officers and staff who have shown outstanding performance over the past year will be felicitated during the ceremony.
