'Shami Forced Me To Quit My Profession': Team India Pacer's Estranged Wife Hasin Jahan Makes Explosive Accusations After Calcutta High Court's Verdict

Team India fast bowler Mohammed Shami's estranged Hasin Jahan has levelled some explosive allegations against the star cricketer after Calcutta High Court's verdict of issuing her an alimony of ₹4 lakh monthly as maintenance. Jahan has revealed that she used to do modelling before but has quit due to Shami's orders.

The Calcutta High Court has ordered Shami to pay ₹4 lakh to his estranged wife and daughter as monthly maintenance amid the legal battle. Back in 2023, it was decided that the 34-year-old has to pay ₹50000 to Jahan ₹80000 to the daughter. Jahan had lodged an FIR at Jadavpur police station against Shami in 2018, citing 'physical and mental torture'.

Speaking to ANI after the court proceedings, Jahan stated:

"I used to model and act before I got married. Shami forced me to quit my profession. He wanted me to live only a housewife’s life. I loved Shami so much that I happily accepted it… But now I have no earnings of my own. Shami has to bear all the responsibility for our maintenance. That is why we had to approach the court when he denied this."

"Thank God there is a law in our country which orders people to bear their responsibilities… If you are entering a relationship with someone, it is not written on their face that they have a poor character, are a criminal, or will play with your and your daughter’s future… I too became a victim like this."
