Introduced on an experimental basis, the system utilises AI-powered cameras to monitor key traffic offences such as illegal parking, wrong-side driving, etc.
This system enables authorities to take immediate action against violators without manual intervention, as it analyses live CCTV footage and generates real-time alerts.
Currently, four AI-powered cameras have been installed on FC Road on an experimental basis for 90 days. "We will analyse the data and propose further action," said an official.
Shivajinagar MLA Siddharth Shirole took to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday and said this move would enhance road discipline and ensure safer, smoother travel.
