TV actress Deepika Kakkar, who recently made headlines due to the Pahalgam terror attack, is back in the news—but this time, it's for a completely different reason. After leaving her acting career following her marriage to Shoaib Ibrahim, Deepika ventured into the business world. Unfortunately, her clothing brand DKI has now shut down after just a few months.
Deepika’s Dream Turns to DustDeepika Kakkar launched DKI (Deepika Kakkar India), a clothing brand focusing on ethnic wear for women, and promoted it extensively through her YouTube vlogs. Initially, there was a lot of buzz around her new venture, and even Farah Khan publicly praised her efforts. However, despite the early excitement, the brand couldn’t survive for long.
Why Did DKI Fail?Although Deepika described DKI as her "dream project," reports suggest that the brand struggled to gain traction in the market. Customers reportedly weren’t impressed with the designs, and the pricing didn’t seem to match the quality.
As of now, neither Deepika nor her husband Shoaib have commented on the closure of the business, but speculation points to negative reviews and a lack of demand as contributing factors to the brand’s downfall.
A Previous SetbackInterestingly, this is not the first time Deepika has faced setbacks in the business world. She had previously launched a clothing line with her sister-in-law, Saba Ibrahim, but that too failed due to similar reasons—poor reviews and a lack of consumer interest.
While DKI may have been short-lived, Deepika remains active on social media, where she continues to connect with her fans and document her life post-acting.
