Jesy Nelson’s baby names have been planned for some time and include a tribute to her family, as opposed to any link to .
Jesy and her partner, Zion Foster, on Thursday to twins they have named Ocean Jade and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster. Many fans have jumped on the use of the name Jade and presumed it is a tribute to former Little Mix bandmate Jade Thirwell.
But the truth is much closer to home. A source close to Jesy explained: “The names which have been chosen they came up with during their long stay in hospital over the last two months as they waited for the twins to grow bigger before they were born.

“Jade was always going to be a middle name as Jesy is very close to her sister. It is a nod to her sister rather than anything else.”
The source confirmed that Jesy and Zion are still in the hospital with the twins and could remain there for a few days yet. They added: “They will definitely be in hospital a little longer yet but are just enjoying spending time with their babies. Jesy and Zion are so happy and thrilled the twins are here and have arrived safe and well.”
It is common for babies born prematurely to be kept in for a short period after birth and these twins had a tough start in life. Jesy and Zion have been living in a London hospital for the last two months and doctors planned to induce the births after 32 weeks. In the end, the babies were born after 31 weeks and five days, as Jesy explained in her announcement on .
She said: "So… Our beautiful baby girls decided to come at 31 weeks plus 5 days. It all happened so quickly, but we are so blessed that they are here with us, healthy and fighting strong! We’ve never felt more in love.
"Everybody meet Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster. Born on 15.05.2025."

Former Little Mix star Jesy had emergency surgery in April after the babies developed twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome - a rare condition which could have been fatal for one or both twins. Jesy also revealed that her twins were monochorionic diamniotic (MCDA), meaning they share a single placenta.
The operation was a success but it meant Jesy and Zion lived in hospital afterwards until the babies were born. In an interview last month before they were born, Zion said living in hospital and preparing to become parents had made him and Jesy closer.
He explained: “We've literally grown to understand each other on a deeper level. And I think we really understand how much we actually care about each other.
“I think it's at these times when you really, really know what love you have and what your relationship means. And I think for me and Jess, this has just taken it to a whole other level of us knowing we are literally made for each other.”
