Trent Alexander-Arnold has that he will leave at the end of the season. The 26-year-old is widely expected to sign for after his contract runs out this summer, ending a two-decade-long chapter with the Merseyside club.
Speculation about his exit had been circulating for several months, stirring a mix of emotions among fans - especially given continued refusal to address the situation publicly. However, in shared on social media, he explained that he deliberately chose to remain silent until had wrapped up the title.
"I know many of you have wondered why or been frustrated that I haven't spoken about this yet," he wrote on X. "But it was always my intention to keep my full focus on the team's best interests, which was securing No. 20."

He elaborated further: "I felt personally the focus should always be on the pitch and when we're in a title race, when we're pushing for trophies, it's about making the right decision for the team, and trying not to distract the team and take away from what we're doing on the pitch. For me it was always to do it after the season was done, when there was nothing else to really play for."
This measured approach contrasts with decision last year to announce his Liverpool departure before the season wrapped. Klopp, who enjoyed nine memorable years at the helm, revealed in January that he would be leaving at the season's end, with his side in the midst of a tense title race.
While the timing allowed Liverpool ample opportunity to source a replacement, it arguably unsettled the squad's rhythm during the run-in - with the club ultimately failing to keep pace with and .
Determined not to repeat that scenario, Alexander-Arnold waited. Liverpool with a dominant 5-1 win over on April 27, and with their objectives achieved, he felt the moment had come to share his intentions.
"After 20 years at Liverpool Club, now is the time for me to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season," he wrote. "This is easily the hardest decision I've ever made in my life.
"This club has been my whole life - my whole - for 20 years. From the Academy right through until now, the support and love I have felt from everyone inside and outside of the club will stay with me forever. I will forever be in debt to you all."
A video statement accompanied the written post, where Alexander-Arnold added: "People won't be happy with the decision, but it's something I feel like I need to do on my journey and my career. The times that I've had here, the special ones, are some of the best of my life and ones that will live with me forever.
"Being able to sit here now, as a two-time Premier League champion, it's a great end to the story for me. It's very emotional for me. [Liverpool] is all I've ever known. It's very emotional. The club, the city, the fans have given me things I could never have dreamt of. I'll never forget it."
He concluded with a message of gratitude: "From the bottom of my heart, I thank everybody - my coaches, my managers, my teammates, the staff and our incredible supporters - for the last 20 years. I've been blessed enough to live out my dreams here and I will never, ever take for granted the special moments I've been fortunate enough to have lived through with you all. My love for this club will never die."
This emotional reveal comes after Liverpool's to . They now face Arsenal, then away, before finishing the season at Anfield against on May 25 - a match that will likely mark Alexander-Arnold's final bow in a Liverpool shirt.
