A Wednesday boss shares that they had to “politely ask” someone to return a prop after season one was done as they didn’t believe a second series was on the cards.
Wednesday season two debuted on Netflix last month with its second batch of episodes released on Wednesday, 3rd September, bringing the drama to a close once again.
The award-winning set has proved to be popular with both fans and its cast as production designer Mark Scruton shared that some of its stars were keen to have keepsakes.

He shared with Screen Time: “I know certainly Catherine [Zeta-Jones] was very happy with her environment, in the cottage we built for Morticia.
“I don’t think anyone took anything away that I know about, occasionally we might have made duplicates of things on request.”
He then laughed: “But everyone’s fully aware that if they come back next year and there’s a big hole missing where a key prop was [we’ll know].”

Wednesday season one came out in November 2022 and it wasn’t clear if there would be more to come until a few months later.
This time around, the future of Wednesday is certain as Netflix has already given director Tim Burton the green light to make a third season, much to fans’ delight.
But as it took some time before it was confirmed a series two would be in the works, some items from the original set went missing.
Scruton added: “We had a prop from season one, I’m trying to remember what it is now.
“But we had to politely ask for it to be returned for season two because we didn’t think we were doing season two.”
Filming for series one took place in Romania, while the second season was shot in Ireland.
It’s not yet known if production is going to return to Ireland but Scruton did remark: “All I know is we left a lot of things standing in Ireland so they’re all still there so hopefully they won’t get wasted.”
Wherever they will be based, there has been no talk on an official return date for series three just yet, although it’s been reported that production is set to begin in spring 2026.
Wednesday is available to watch on Netflix.
