Expert gives unusual verdict on Princess Charlotte and Louis' future as working royals

Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are very popular young royals and often manage to steal the show at big royal events. While they may not be as prominent on the royal stage as their older brother Prince George, 12, who is one day set to be King, they are certainly just as popular.

All three of the children are currently in full-time education, but what comes next for the younger two may not be a life as working royals. While George has a royal roleset-in-stoneas heir to the throne, the futures of Charlotte and Louis are less certain.

While this may be seen as a negative for some, one royal expert who used to work at the Palace believes it may mean that Charlotte and Louis have more opportunities, which could even see them have a career outside of the Firm.

Speaking to online learning platform Study Dog, former royal butler Grant Harrold - who worked for the King when he was The Prince of Wales between 2004 and 2011 - said that Prince William's youngest two children would have their parents' support if they wanted a job outside the monarchy.

He said: "I think they could pursue a career outside of being a full-time working royal. I think that's something that their father and mother will support.

"I think the days of the royals having to be royals and do what other royals do will be gone.

"I think if Charlotte turns around to her dad and says, 'Do you know what, I really want to become an architect.' I think he would be welcoming of that."

It is believed all three of William and Kate's children have hinted at careers they would like to have in the future, with Louis reportedly set on becoming a fighter pilot.

Meanwhile, it has been previously reported that George would like to work in a restaurant and Charlotte would be interested in nursing.

None of the royal children are set to become working royals until they complete their education, which is believed to be a priority.
