I'm a Celeb star Jack Osbourne has opened up on how his family are coping with grief after the death of his dad, Ozzy Osbourne, earlier this year. He shared that his famous mum, X Factor star Sharon Osbourne, is "supportive" of him despite him being away from his loved ones for a few weeks to partake in the ITV reality TV show.
Speaking to the broadcasters ahead of joining the Australian jungle, Jack, 40, said that his mum and sister, Kelly, have given him their "full support". They will, he says, be tuning in to watch him on the programme. Jack, whose dad, Ozzy sadly died earlier this year, also admits they have told him they hope it will take his mind off things. But the reality TV fan favourite, who has fronted his own Adrenaline Junkie series in the past, isn't so sure. He explained: "Mum and Kelly, yeah they are absolutely going to be watching. They are supportive." He also confessed that he will miss them terribly, alongside his wife and family, especially as he won't be able to call them.
Jack added: "It's absolutely going to be hard leaving them behind. I have got lots of kids, my wife, and my family still in the wake of my dad passing. It is going to be difficult, that is for sure.
"It's not the longest amount of time I've been away from them. I've gone on different trips filming Adrenaline Junkie for nearly two months without a phone, but I still had access to one and I was able to make calls home.
"It's going to be very difficult not speaking to my wife and kids. But yes, I do hope I can make my family proud."
Ozzy died surrounded by love at the age of 76 on July 22. At the time, his family released a heartbreaking statement, which read: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
"He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."
In 2020, the star disclosed that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and he took a break from touring in 2023 following extensive spinal surgery.
