Keir Starmer suspected arson attacker 'recruited by Russian special forces'

Journalistic investigation carried out by a Ukrainian news outlet has alleged Ukrainian national Roman Lavrynovych may have been recruited by Russian special service.

The unverified claims were shared on Telegram by RIA Novosti, which posted: "Ukrainian suspected of arson of British Prime Minister's property could have been recruited by Russian special services via Telegram 21-year-old Roman Lavrynovych, suspected of arson of property associated with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, could have been recruited by Russian special services via Telegram.

"This is evidenced by the analysis of the "Schemes" project of the Ukrainian's activity on social networks and messengers.

Journalists found that during 2022-2025, Lavrynovych actively looked for work in Telegram groups for foreigners in London - mainly in the construction and hotel business, including "for cash".

"He left the last message about looking for work in one of such groups on May 3 - five days before the car was set on fire."
