
Digging up an old driveway was a real blast for landscape gardeners in a seaside town - after uncovering a rusty WWI revolver and bullets in the old concrete. The aged Webley Mk VI Revolver was embedded in the sheets of concrete on the old driveway at the house in the popular seaside town of Ramsgate, in Kent, last month.
Stunned contractors from Isle Groundworks and Landscaping had removed the old concrete and skipping it when they flipped one section over and found the weathered barrel of the gun inside. A closer inspection revealed the bent barrel and rusted frame and grip of the iconic British Empire weapon.
Even more shockingly for the speechless landscapers, also embedded in the same concrete slab were 13 live rounds for the pistol.
The revolver is believed to be a Webley Mk VI Revolver, a .455 (11.6 mm) weapon that was mass produced around the period of the .
The firearm was heavily manufactured from the UK for dozens countries between 1887 and 1963. It's such a relic that early models were used during the Boer War in the 19th Century.
The workers alerted Kent who are now investigation and securing the weapon.
