Nigel Farage has hit out at "out of touch" Labour following a resurfaced clip of a Labour MP claiming we should accept refugees "until saturation point". The Clacton MP has now shared the video of Rachael Maskell, MP for York Central, alongside videos of himself from 2014 speaking on the impact of migration to the UK.
The Reform UK leader posted the video on X accompanied by the caption: "Many people are sharing an old video of Rachael Maskell MP." He added: "I was talking about it 11 years ago!" The video begins with the question: "Who has the answer to the refugee crisis?", before a resurfaced clip of Rachael Maskell saying "20,000 is not enough, 30,000 is not enough" plays.
It then cuts to a 2014 clip of Mr Farage saying "77% of the population say we cannot take immigration at current levels".
Ms Maskell continues: "We will keep going until saturation point". The Clacton MP then says: "I'm sorry, we simply can't accept countless millions", while headlines from 2015 flash up on the screen.
The Labour MP then says: "What does it matter if we have to wait another week for hospital visits," followed by another clip of the Reform UK leader saying: "The current accident and emergency crisis that we've seen this winter in our hospitals."
The video then cuts to and from Ms Maskell speaking on "class sizes [being] slightly bigger" to Mr Farage talking about "the impact on schools".
The Labour MP adds: "or if our city is slightly fuller", followed by the Reform MP saying: "The fact that we have to build one new dwelling every seven minutes".
The clip then cuts to a black screen with the word "Labour" shown, followed by "out of touch" underneath.
The video shared on social media has amassed nearly 100,000 views on X alone, as users comment: "It's old but never more relevant today", and "completely agree Nigel whether it is old or not".
