Sir Rod Stewart left fans in awe when he took to the Pyramid Stage on Sunday leaving die hard Glastonbury festival goers in a frenzy. The Maggie May hitmaker, 80, performed in the legend's slot on the final day at Worthy Farm as he wowed music lovers with his timeless hits and even had surprise appearances from Ronnie Wood and Lulu. The performer has since taken to social media and delivered his verdict following his appearance as countless fans rushed to support Sir Rod.
Before his Glastonbury gig, the singer had to cancel several US shows in early June due to flu recovery. He has also shared plans to move away from "large-scale world tours" after 2025, favouring smaller, intimate gigs instead. Despite this, the rocker put on a show-stopping performance with some fans suggesting he was the best act at this years Glastonbury Festival.
Sharing a video montage of his time on the Pyramid Stage the dad of eight took the opportunity to thank the crowd in an emotional four word admission on Tuesday as he gushed, "You lot were magic".
Rod also tweeted: "What an honour to play the Pyramid Stage and what a crowd."
His legion of followers rushed to support him as one admirer praised: "You were magic Rod. Best by far all weekend."
Another tweeted: "Sadly wasn't there, watched you on TV. You were bloody amazing. National treasure. Thank you xx."

A third gushed: "One of the best performances ever."
A fourth enthused: "Love you Sir Rod, & love your amazing gorgeous band too, you were all incredible, in that heat, wow."
A fifth added: "Sir Rod, you blew Glastonbury out of the water. Your limited time slot was absolutely fantastic. You are truly a LEGEND my friend. You are FOREVER YOUNG."
The singing legend joined an iconic roster, including James Brown, Diana Ross, and Shania Twain, all of whom have graced the tea-time slot at the world-renowned festival.
It comes after Sir Rod had to call off a series of tour dates including his landmark 200th Las Vegas residency show due to health concerns last summer.
