A stunning UK village in the Cotswolds is home to a sprawling sandy beach and swimming lagoons. The Cotswolds is popularly known for its quaint villages with every corner looking straight out of a fairytale. But tucked in this region is a country park with a large inland sandy beach and it's nowhere near the sea.
Located near the village of Somerford Keynes in Cirencester is Cotswold Country Park and Beach which is a perfect destination for everyone looking for a quick beach escape. One can go wild swimming and paddling in the lake, or take a pedalo on the water or challenge your friends and family to a round of mini golf. Touted as the UK's largest inland, the country park houses two beaches - Main Beach on the South Lake and the Children's Beach Lagoon.
Apart from this, there is an adventure playground and junior climbing walls situated right by the beach.
The site boasts over 150 lakes and offers a wide variety of water sports, including kayaking, paddleboarding, zorbing, and more.
The country park is around 90 minutes away from Birmingham. It's around 80 miles down the M5, past Worcester and Cheltenham. Entry fees begin at approximately £3.50 for those arriving on foot or by bike, and around £10 per car (up to five people), with prices varying by season-low, mid, or high.
Cotswold Country Park & Beach operates from 10 am to 5 pm between April 4 and July 4. From July 5 through August 31, closing time is extended to 6 pm, after which it returns to the 5 pm schedule. The park will close for the winter season on October 19, 2025.

One of the users wrote on Google: "I visited Cotswold Country Park and Beach with my mom, sister, and 2-year-old daughter, and we had a great time. We enjoyed the swan ride, played on the beach, and spent time in the swimming areas.
"We were able to set up a small tent and relax while taking in the beautiful views. We also had lunch at the café, which was convenient. Since it was a school day, the park was quiet with fewer people around, which made it even more enjoyable. Admission was also reasonably priced. Highly recommended for a peaceful family outing."
Another user wrote: "We booked ahead by 4 days & caught a very hot day. There was plenty of natural shade off the beach area to stay cool in. The water was cool but not cold & obviously busy as families splashed around. I counted 4 lifeguards.
"Very vigilant and perhaps when it's very busy ball games in the water should be discouraged!! Everything was clean, the bins were emptied every hour & toilets looked like it was the beginning of the day...not the end! Well done cleaning teams! We loved our day & will bring our grandkids back soon."
