'Is this BJP's Rajdharma?' Patwari slams inaction against Vijay Shah

Bhopal: Congress state unit president Jitu Patwari on Sunday tore into the BJP over its failure to arrest tribal affairs minister Vijay Shah, days after an FIR was lodged against him over "objectionable" remarks against an Army woman officer following a high court order.

He said despite clear video evidence of Shah's controversial speech in Mhow that formed the basis of the FIR, the MP cabinet minister continued to evade arrest. "There can be no greater ridicule of the law than this."

Taking to ‘X', Patwari further wrote that police had stated that a report on the case would directly be produced in the court, which obviously means that the minister has been exempted from arrest. "For a common man, law is tough but for those in power, it's lenient and can be bent. Is it the 'Rajdharma' of the BJP?" he asked.

He further said attempts were being made to shield a minister who made objectionable comments against the Army and one of its women officers. "Is this the real face of the 'Beti Bachao' campaign? Is it the nationalism BJP vouches for?" the Congress leader asked.

"Inaction against Shah has set a trend to make unsavoury comments on the Indian armed forces which is now being followed by other BJP leaders like (deputy CM) Jagdish Dewda, Faggan Singh Kulaste and Narendra Prajapati," he added.
