Govt announces bureaucratic reshuffle, retirements

Lucknow: The state govt announced bureaucratic reshuffle on Monday night, which included the appointment of Divya Prakash Giri as principal secretary of the department of Namami Gange and rural water supply.

Sanyukta Sammadar was handed over the additional charge of principal secretary, minority welfare and Waqf Board. Pooja Yadav, who was in waiting, was appointed secretary of Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

Devendra Kumar Singh Kushwaha will be the special secretary, excise, while Rajnish Chandra will take over as special secretary, rural development, and Rajendra Singh will take over as special secretary, social welfare.

Two senior bureaucrats are also set to retire at the end of this month. They include 1987-batch officer Arun Singhal, who is currently posted as the director general of the National Archives of India under the central govt. The other person to retire is 1989-batch officer Monica S Garg, who is posted as agriculture production commissioner, in addition to being additional chief secretary for the department of minority welfare and Muslim Waqf Board.
