These global observances serve as a platform to raise public awareness about the causes of blindness, promote preventive care, and encourage early detection through regular eye check-ups — especially as individuals grow older.
As part of these awareness efforts, the Ebsar Foundation — a Saudi-based organization dedicated to supporting individuals with visual impairments — is rolling out a series of educational and community-focused initiatives across the country. According to Amal Al-Hunaiti, CEO of the foundation, the month-long campaign aims to deepen public understanding of vision health and foster more inclusive social practices.
Among the foundation’s key initiatives is a specially designed program for mothers of children with visual impairments.
